Cody Tomblin

The original Refract. A network architect by day, our CEO-in-waiting — quiet, methodical, allergic to shortcuts.

CT

Cody bought the first parcel — the 1929 craftsman on Hill Avenue — in 2015. Before that he spent a decade in commercial construction across the Ozarks, learning every kind of inspection on every kind of building. He's the one who walks a piece of land and decides whether it's worth the work, then handles the entitlements, the engineering, and the contractors who actually do the building.

He doesn't say a lot. He doesn't have to. The private road at Kontrast exists because he spent two years convincing the county to grade it. Cabin One at Ozark Gothic is on schedule because he checks on it twice a week. The fence at Little Sugar holds because he picked the right wood.

If a Refract property has been built or restored, his hands were on it. By day he's a network architect at CIFR Digital, where he gives his full attention — so he's Refract's CEO-in-waiting while Ashley runs Refract Ventures. That suits him fine: he'd rather spend a Saturday at the back of the Kontrast parcels with a clipboard and a coffee than anywhere else in the world.

Grew up in Bentonville before it was Bentonville. Married Ashley in 2008. Believes the best buildings are the ones you didn't have to fix the next year.
